Institute Scholarship Policy for IPM Students
The IPM Scholarship Policy offers a range of scholarships to support high-achieving and financially needy students. The policy comprises two phases: undergraduate and postgraduate. During the undergraduate phase, students can benefit from merit-based scholarships each year, as well as merit-cum-means scholarships based on academic performance and family income. In the postgraduate phase, students become eligible for scholarships under the MBA scheme. These scholarships offer both encouragement and financial relief, helping students focus on academic excellence. The details of the scholarships are given in the following sections.
Scholarships in Undergraduate Phase
1. Merit-based Scholarships
Eligibility Criteria: Highest CGPA among all students in the batch in each of the three undergraduate years
Additional Conditions:
- CGPA should not be below 3.0
- There should not be any grade drop.
- Such students should not have been involved in any act of academic and/or non- academic indiscipline or misconduct during their stay at the Institute.
- If the student with the highest CGPA does not fulfil the criteria mentioned in (ii) and (iii), the student with the next highest CGPA should be considered.
- When there is a tie between two or more students, the one who has obtained the maximum number of ‘A+’ in the program's respective year shall be considered for the award.
- When two or more students have equal numbers of ‘A+’, the Academic Council shall award the Scholarship considering their character and conduct by a majority decision. If there is a tie among the Members of the Academic Council, the decision of the Chairman of the Academic Council shall be final.
Amount: Tuition fees for the year in which the student scored the highest CGPA
2. Merit-cum-means Based Financial Assistance
Eligibility Criteria: Family income below Rs. 8,00,000/- per annum. In case of multiple applications, the top 3 students based on CGPA will be selected from among the applicant pool. Herein, the term family means the student’s parents and siblings below the age of 18 years and also their spouse and children below the age of 18 years.
Additional Conditions:
- If a student has secured the Institute’s merit-based scholarship mentioned in (I) above, then such a student will not be eligible for this scholarship in the same year.
- There should not be any grade drop.
- Such students should not have been involved in any act of academic and/or non- academic indiscipline or misconduct during their stay at the Institute.
- If the student with the highest CGPA does not fulfil the criteria mentioned in (i) and (ii), the student with the next highest CGPA should be considered.
- When there is a tie between two or more students, the one who has obtained the maximum number of highest letter grades in the program's respective year shall be considered for the award. For example, If two students have the same CGPA, and none of them has got an ‘A+’ or ‘A’, but student P has secured an ‘A-‘ in 3 courses, and student Q has secured an ‘A-‘ in 4 courses, then student Q will be ranked higher than student P.
- When there is a tie between two or more students, as per criterion (iv), the Academic Council shall award the Scholarship considering their character and conduct by a majority decision. If there is a tie among the Members of the Academic Council, the decision of the Chairman of the Academic Council shall be final.
