Yukti HR Conclave 2018

Yukti'18 aims to provide a dais where the veterans from industry interact and reflect with the budding managers on the recent trends and developments in the domain of human resource management. This year's panel discussion would revolve around the umbrella theme - HR Business Partnering. The conclave aims to provide the student fraternity at IIM Amritsar a holistic view of how the field of HR is being re-conceptualized by the changing dynamics of business partnering thus creating a generation of managers who will be equipped with ideas and ideologies that will help them navigate in the dynamic business scenario of the current era. The idea is to analyse the challenges in the HR function and conclude with solutions for the same. With the two themes, we wish to understand how innovativeness in HR can be inspired through the implementation of artful HR.

Panel #1: Challenges with People Analytics (Era of Digital HR)

During the past decade, People Analytics is the buzzword that has been doing rounds in HR functions across organizations. Many organizations have started going for analytical tools in HR practices and talent management, rather than relying on their gut instincts. But that is not enough. Organizations still have a long way to go to exploit the power of data and analytics in optimum. The HR data management challenges which are still being faced by these organizations would hamper its ability to capitalize on talent management data into various aspects of the employee's job cycle. The discussion would revolve around how organizations are transforming themselves by adopting digital HR practices. What all challenges lie for them at ground zero. Another aspect of discussion would be how an organization can use people analytics in talent management as well as in creating a teamwork environment from top to bottom.

Panel #2: HR Artistry - Developing an inspired workforce through artful HR

Though the importance of developing HR as a science is imperative, still there is an element of HR practice which is, and will always remain an art, which becomes even more critical at top levels, particularly in a global organization. This important aspect of HR is being neglected in the present scenario. Hence it becomes very significant to understand the current trends and their implications on artful HR. In this context, the panel will discuss the various facets of HR Artistry and how organizations can evolve as a People's Employer. HR Artistry focuses on 3 pillars namely creativity, ambition, and bravery that guides HR to be more artful in their roles. The discussion would revolve around how organizations are developing their sustainability through employing emerging technologies.
