IIM Amritsar Concludes Summer Placements for the 6th MBA Batch

During the unprecedented difficult times caused by the pandemic, IIM Amritsar has successfully concluded summer placements for the MBA batch 2020-22 on a high note with 100% summer placements.

The year 2020 drastically changed the landscape of education and employment. As the classroom turned virtual, students sitting alone at home struggled to adapt to the new virtual classroom environment. With teaching and job interviews moving to virtual platforms, several changes occurred in the recruitment process. Even in these conditions, IIM Amritsar outdid its previous performances by achieving 100% summer placements for its largest MBA batch since inception. The present batch has 212 students, with an increase of 50% from the previous year. The current batch of IIM Amritsar has also got diversity with 33 per cent female candidates and cultural diversity with representation from over 24 states of India.

IIM Amritsar saw over 100 recruiters partaking in the summer internship hiring process, a whopping 100% year-on-year increase in the organizations gracing IIM Amritsar. More than 80 companies were first-time recruiters. The summer internship drive saw big brands like Crompton Greaves, Jio Creative Labs, Kotak Mahindra, Adobe, Dalmia Group, IOCL, Haldiram’s, Shoppers Stop, Capital Food and Akshay Patra visiting for the first time, which exhibits the Industry's resolve in brand IIM Amritsar. The previous recruiters, including ICICI Lombard, RBI, Xiaomi, V-Guard, Cipla, HPCL, continued their association with the institute, bearing testimony to our alumni's astounding performance in the Industry.

All the summer internship processes were conducted seamlessly through the virtual mode, with admirable statistics, such as the top quartile average stipend and the highest stipend of ₹99,207 and ₹170,000, respectively. The recruitment drive provided the MBA batch opportunities in all management areas including but not limited to Marketing, Finance, Operations, Business Analytics, HR, and General Management.
