Mr. Vishesh became the youngest member to be elected to the Global Board of Governors of Grant Thornton International Limited (GTIL) in 2015. GTI operates in over 140 countries. Under his leadership, and in line with its purpose of shaping a more Vibrant Bharat, Grant Thornton Bharat LLP has become the largest Indian professional services firm advising the government on many of its flagship programs, private companies in their fulfilling global aspirations, private equity in making and exiting investments, regulators in resolving the most prominent frauds, and bankers in successfully restructuring over leveraged companies.
Vishesh is a past Chair of the YPO Delhi Chapter, and its Family Business and Deal networks for the South Asia Region. He is currently the Chair of CII’s Economic Policy Committee for the North, and the US India Business Council’s India Advisory Board. For over 20 years, Vishesh has been one of the most vocal promoters of the need for Indian family businesses to adopt formal governance structures and succession planning frameworks, thereby preserving business legacy.
Vishesh was the lead consultant to the World Bank on its Report on Observance of Standards and Codes (ROSC), on accounting and auditing. Working with large corporates, the audit profession and the regulators, the report set out the action plan on accounting and auditing for India. Many of these suggestions were incorporated in what became the Companies Act 2013.
