Sunil is an Assistant Professor at IIM Amritsar in the IT and Computational Systems Area. He has a PhD in Information Systems from IIM Bangalore. Prior to joining the doctoral programme he completed his MTech in Signal Processing from IIT Guwahati and worked in the industry as design engineer for about two years.
His broad research interest lies in the interaction between information technology and society. His current research work looks into architecture and governance of internet-based applications and their effect of democratic institutions. He also has been working on novel mixed method research designs to conduct empirical research on internet-based applications such as social media. He has presented his research work at multiple national and international conferences and has co-authored one journal paper.
He is interested in teaching managers to navigate the landscape of the industry that is undergoing transformation because of digital technologies. This includes teaching the general relevance of digital technologies to competitiveness and an in-depth exploration of managerial implications of technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
