Dr. Shuvabrata Chakraborty is an Assistant Professor in the Quantitative Methods and Operations Management area at the Indian Institute of Management Amritsar. He has completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow under the guidance of Prof. Yogesh K. Agarwal. His research interest primarily lies in the application of Operations Research to solve problems related to facility location, logistics and transportation. Specifically, his works concern the use of integer programming techniques such as the branch-and-cut algorithms based on valid inequalities, decomposition techniques, and metaheuristics. He has presented his research at various national and international conferences and has published his work in reputed peer-reviewed journals such as Transportation Science and Networks. He has also received Best Paper awards at ICBIT 2022 (MDI Murshidabad) and at the Doctoral Colloquium of SOM 2019 (IIT Kanpur).
Shuvabrata is a B.Tech. (Gold Medalist) in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Silchar and has worked as a piping engineer with the Engineers India Limited (EIL) for nearly five years before pursuing his PhD.
